Midterm updates.

October 26, 2006
1.  This week is your last chance to inform me if you wish to take the graduate written exam (required for graduation) this semester.  This exam will be given only one more time after this semester (during the spring 07 semester).
2.  If you are planning to complete your degree this (F06) semester, this week is your last chance to submit your completion schedule — showing, among other things, a timeline for submitting your thesis for approval and an acceptable date (prior to December 15) for your oral exam.
3.  For F06 CMMNA896 students.
Check next week’s assignments: [http://www.loyno.edu/~dmyers/F06_classes/GradStudents/06F_CMMN896_SyllSched.html]
Stephen, Jackie, and Holly are scheduled to present an introductory chapter to their theses, which must include a clear explanation of study goals and the theoretical relevance thereof.  Shelly and Jennifer are scheduled to respond to these presentations — critiquing in particular the theoretical foundations of each study — as a part of their class requirements.  Since all are involved with the assignment for next week, please let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you are not going to show.  Last-minute emails will be insufficient.
4.  I have cleared everyone for early registration for the spring, but most remaining graduate courses will be offered in an independent study format.  This means you will have to get written permission from each instructor involved.  Try to do that as early as possible.  Pre-registration for undergraduate students begins next week.
