Play redux.

Working on the manuscript.  Tentative title:  Play Redux:  Computer Game Anti-Aesthetics.  Compiling stuff and adding stuff since 2003.  Bout 27K words compiled and added at the moment. 60K or so target.  Listening to cable music channels as I work, 3 or so weeks worth so far.  Conclusion:  For better or worse, I like the 80s channel the best – except for Madonna.  Could someone please take Madonna out of the 80s plz?

Uh, actually, no. All my work is about preventing the fuckwads like those very Broken Children on Broken Toys from taking over the Internet and restricting our freedoms. Like…you get to decide who the fuckwads are? Hello? No way.

Imagine, a professor at a school of mass communications talking like a common fanboy on a forums. Ugh. Very unimpressed.

Hilarious, that what got all the script-kiddies riled up on Broken Toys was that all I did was GASP OMGODZORZ criticize Bartle for his utopian and socialist theories welded into game design. Now that I’ve broken the eye, others are becoming free to criticize Bartle for everything else they’ve felt to timid to criticize him for.
